Great day of spatial thinking at Geodan

Yesterday was a great day for spatial thinking, during an event which commemorated 25 years of Geodan. Topics of the day were spatial thinking (…), sustainability, society and technology. Lots of interesting speakers and demos.
Mark Herbold, CEO ESRI Nederland, also gave a presentation, which started with a video address from Jack Dangermond for Henk Scholten and all attendees. Jack mentions the many good foodprints Henk has brought to GIS and how he is now saving lives with Eagle. You are cordially invited to listen to Jack yourself. I like how Jack ends with “Geography has a major role to play in creating the way that we manage our future”.
Center-stage for this day was clearly Geodan’s CEO (and Prof.) Henk Scholten. Last year, Henk received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the ESRI UC. I really appreciated being able to attend; these ‘Geodan days’ always bring me new connections and ideas. You can get an impression of the day by looking at this set of images.
Normally I do blog in Dutch, but I thought I try Denglish for a change. BTW I saved a tweetfeed of the day.
Jan Willem dank voor de mooie woorden, ook wij hebben genoten van onze verjaardag. De toespraak van jack was bijzonder, hele warme gevoelens
